“Ever since I had my first job as a teenager, earning just $50 a week, I’ve been interested in finding out how to make your money work for you… I studied both finance and accounting but definitely found my interest lay in financial planning.”
Nick Donato decided early on that he wanted to work in the finance industry. Completing both a Bachelor of Banking and Finance and Bachelor of Accounting at Monash University set him on his career path. And joining the team at First Financial as an Associate Adviser was the next step in his progression.
“While I was studying, I did two internships with a financial planning organisation and I eventually ended up working for them… but when I found First Financial, I was drawn to the role. It suited my experience and sounded exactly like what I wanted to do.
The company is larger than some of the boutique firms and has a lot of opportunity to learn and gain valuable experience. I work alongside Anthony Dhillon and I really enjoy helping him research strategies.”
Nick is currently completing his Masters in Financial Planning and has his eyes set on eventually becoming a Financial Adviser.
“I like talking to clients and my role is a great way to learn. Working with Anthony has already taught me a lot; I know it’s really helpful for my long-term career goals.”
Outside of work, Nick is a keen basketball player, and he was an enthusiastic member of the team we sent to the 2019 Corporate Games. On the weekends he enjoys nothing more than getting together with friends to watch a Boston Celtics match. He also loves to spend time down at Phillip Island… relaxing at the beach is his perfect busy city get-away.
